about krohnePhoto
I use my camera to understand things. Sometimes what I thought I saw in the viewfinder is not what I captured. Of course, this is not a unique experience. But rather than toss those pictures away, I like to explore the possibilities hidden within. Sometimes that means deconstrucfting the image and rebuilding it in a new way. All of these pictures have been manipulated. I can't seem to leave "well-enough" alone. When a story finally reveals itself, I stop. This is true whether or not you can recognize the subject matter. All these pictures tell me a story. On occasion I'll tell you a story about a picture. Mostly I'd rather you write your own stories - they're probably better than anything I could tell you. "krohnePhoto" is the creation of Martin Krohne. It showcases a small collection of new and old photographs created with alternative, traditional and digital processes. Martin studied fine art photography at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. He has been showing his work in galleries since 1981 and on the web since 1996. A full biography is available. |
